What is Hydro Excavation

Hydro excavation is a method for digging and removing soil with the use of water and industrial grade vacuums. Pressurized water is used to safely and precisely break up soil while industrial vacuum trucks suck out the loose soil and water. The loosened soil and water mixture is moved to a debris tank. Using highly pressurized water to break through the ground won’t damage underlying pipes or cables unlike the use of a backhoe or manual shoveling. Hydro excavation is ideal for locating and installing utility lines with pin-point accuracy leaving the surrounding landscape undamaged.

  • Locate and install sewer lines
  • Potholing/daylighting
  • Slot trenching
  • Safe debris removal

Hydro excavation is a non-mechanical, non-destructive process that uses pressurized water and industrial strength vacuum to simultaneously dig up and remove soil. This style of digging is a safer more controlled method of land excavation. Compared to traditional excavation methods like manual shoveling, backhoes and other large machinery, hydro excavation is more accurate and safe for the operator and surrounding environment.

It’s ideal for locating underground utilities because it won’t damage existing pipes or lines and is the preferred method for installing poles, signs and slot trenches because of its precision digging. We can excavate hard to reach or small digging sites because the trucks and equipment can be positioned at a distance from the actual site also lessening the congestion of the site.

Hydro excavation has long run benefits for a job well done and allows us to provide a better service to our customers. Reduce risk of damage, lessen backfilling, and keep a stronger foundation of your landscape.
